At ANA, we are driven to make power solutions simpler, smarter, and more sustainable. This includes the introduction of our Hybrid BESS System, which provides efficient and innovative energy solutions. For years, we have been supplying prime power diesel generators and compressors to the rental industry, continually refining our approach to meet evolving needs.
One of the most persistent challenges in diesel power generation is wet stacking, an issue that occurs when a generator operates under low loads for extended periods, leading to fuel inefficiency, carbon buildup, and maintenance headaches. Recognizing this problem, we acted.
SmartLoad: The First Step Toward Smarter Power
In 2018, we developed SmartLoad™, an automatic load bank that provides up to 40% resistive load whenever the actual generator load drops below 30%. As soon as demand rises, SmartLoad disengages, allowing the generator to run at full efficiency with our hybrid system.

This innovation significantly reduced wet stacking, improving generator performance and reliability. However, we soon realized that while Smart Load solved one problem, it created another—by adding load to underutilized generators. It also increased fuel consumption, leading to higher costs for both our customers and the environment.
A Smarter, More Sustainable Solution: Battery Storage
Determined to find a better way, we introduced the Grid to Go 48V battery storage system in 2019. This system charged the batteries while the generator ran, then switched to battery power when load demand was low—reducing fuel consumption and emissions.

As with any pioneering technology, we encountered real-world challenges. We saw firsthand the impact of:
- Insufficient grounding and its effect on performance
- Battery degradation when left idle or fully drained
- Temperature extremes affecting energy storage capacity
- Handling and maintenance issues in tough job site environments
Rather than seeing these challenges as roadblocks, we saw them as opportunities to learn, refine, and innovate with our hybrid system.
Introducing EBOSS® : The Future of Hybrid Power
By listening to our customers and understanding the rental industry inside and out, we developed a more advanced solution under our dedicated sustainable power division, ANA Energy. In late 2022, ANA Energy introduced EBOSS®, an all-in-one hybrid power system that combines intelligent energy storage with generator optimization to meet the real-world demands of today’s job sites.

EBOSS® not only eliminates wet stacking but also significantly reduces fuel consumption, lowers emissions, and extends equipment life. By automatically managing power distribution between battery storage and diesel generation, this hybrid system delivers maximum efficiency without compromise—setting a new benchmark for reliable, sustainable power generation in the field.
Supported by advanced Telematics Monitoring Technology, EBOSS® provides real-time visibility into system performance, fuel efficiency, and environmental impact. In 2025 alone, data from just 50 of our most deployed units has shown a collective savings of 216,072 gallons of fuel, equating to $1,296,432 in cost reductions for our customers. These insights offer a clear view into the value a full EBOSS® fleet can deliver—empowering smarter decisions, lower emissions, and a more sustainable future.
Leading the Charge in Sustainable Power
Our Journey to Zero® has been more than just a technical evolution; it has been a testament to our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and real-world problem-solving. Today, we are not just improving generator efficiency; we are setting a new industry standard for tomorrows future intelligent power management within a hybrid system.
At ANA, we are redefining what is possible in power generation, seeking to help businesses cut costs, reduce environmental impact, and operate more efficiently. Because our mission remains the same: To make your world easier—one innovation at a time.
