BATTERY AND FIRE SAFETY STATEMENT
ANA’s Energy BossTM contains UL listed and recognized electrical control, power, and safety components. Energy BossTM uses a Lithium-Ion chemistry called Lithium Titanate Oxide (LTO) which is much less energy dense than traditional LFP or NMC chemistries and therefor, significantly lowering the chance of fire propagation during thermal runaway.

ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM (ESS) COMPLIANCE:
UL9540 is a requirement for Energy Storage Systems that was released in 2020. The International Fire Code IFC2021 section 1200 states all ESS systems must comply and be certified to UL9540.
For ESS products containing Lithium-Ion Technologies, the International Fire Code,
IFC2021 section 1207.1.1. specifies up to 20kWh of Energy Capacity is Exempt
from UL9540 and thus may be used without UL9540 certifications in both mobile
and stationary applications.
ANA Energy bossTM (BOSS70-20, BOSS25-15) contains an energy capacity of only
20kWh and is exempt from UL9540 certification. Other energy storage products
such as office UPS systems, Electric Golf Carts, Electric fork lifts, and RV Energy
storage systems are below the 20kWh threshold and are also exempt.
Despite being exempt from these requirements, the Energy BossTM product line has
been Field Evaluated and Tested and found to be compliant to UL 9540.
